EX AGENT

EX AGENT

Sitting restlessly between post-rock and free-jazz, Ex Agent throw together dissonant symphonies of sax and piano alongside frantic guitars, drums, and haunting vocals. Combining elements of gonzo journalism, punk and jazz, the five piece sprinkle a taste of noir into a salty no-wave cacophony.
With each of the band playing crucial roles in other acts on the Bristol scene, Ex Agent comprises members of the likes of foot foot, HAAL, Sunglasz Vendor, and Broadsheets, but bring something entirely unique to the table in terms of their own sound.

The band can often be seen live with additional members including Natalie Whiteland on harp (of Minor Conflict) and Harry Furniss on cornet (of Iceman Furniss Quintet and Bingo Fury).

These live shows have earned the group early support slots on some impressive lineups, including The Last Dinner Party, Drahla, Holy Tongue (Valentina Magaletti), and more recently, a night curated by fellow Bristol experimenters, Squid. Other notable shows include slots at festivals Simple Things and Ritual Union, as well as being invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind improvisational performance alongside experimental rock legends Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and the late Mark Stewart (The Pop Group) at The Cube Microplex in 2022.
